What isn't allowed — the short version

These articles explain how our rules are applied in practice, including the things that most often get characters removed. The full policy is in our Community Guidelines.

PixelChat is a safe-for-work platform. Everything here is built around that, and it's the single biggest thing to understand before you create a character.

You must be 18 or over to use PixelChat, and every character you create must portray an adult.

Never, no exceptions:

• Sexually explicit or pornographic content, or nudity, in text or images
• Any sexual content involving minors, or characters who read as minors
• Excessively violent or threatening content, or anything that suggests or promotes self-harm
• Content involving animals.
• Hate speech or harassment targeting race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality or ethnicity
• Defamatory or libellous content, or content intended to harm someone
• Deliberate misinformation
• Content involving illegal substances or criminal conduct
• Glorifying dictators, terrorists, perpetrators, war criminals or known violent criminals
• Non-consensual content or activities are not allowed
• Family-related characters or scenarios — see article 6.8
• Real, non-anthropomorphic animals as characters — see article 6.7
• Sharing personal data without consent — including email addresses, home addresses, medical or financial information and phone numbers, even invented ones
• Anything facilitating prostitution or trafficking. We have a zero-tolerance policy here.

Not allowed as images:

• Photographs of real people, including edited, cropped or partial ones
• AI-generated images that depict or resemble a real person
• Photorealistic images that could be mistaken for a real person
• Non-anthropomorphic animals
• Blank avatars

Also restricted:

• Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property
• External links, social media handles or any form of advertising anywhere on the platform
• Copying another user's character or character description and publishing it as your own
